With the draws finalised and regional qualifiers reaching a fever pitch, the 2026 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) calendar is heating up, starting with a massive regional showdown in Mukono before heading north to Lira
Before the national spotlight shifts to Lira, all eyes will be on Seroma Christian High School, Mukono, this thursday. The school is set to host a massive multi-discipline event featuring over 60 schools competing across 11 different sports. This regional gethering serves as a critical litmus test for athletes in:
Football (boys and girls)
basketball (boys and girls)
Netball (boys and girls)
Volleyball (boys and girls)
And four other disciplinees these include games aren't just about local bragging rights; they are the final sharpening stone for teams hoping to dominate the upcoming national championships
A staggering 64 teams have been drawn into 16 groups of four. The sheer scale of the tournament ensures that every match from the opening whistle to the final will be a high stake battle for survival.
