The 2026 USSSA Kampala Regional Qualifiers concluded with high-octane drama as Lubiri Secondary School and Kawempe Muslim SS emerged as the footballing giants of the city. While Lubiri secured a historic victory in the boys' category, Kawempe Muslim asserted their dominance in the girls' final, ensuring both schools head to the National Championship in Lira as the teams to beat.
In a tournament defined by shifting power dynamics, Lubiri Secondary School claimed the regional title after a nerve-wracking campaign. The highlight of their journey was a high pressure semi-final clash against Kibuli Senior school. The match was a tactical battle between coaches that shifted drastically when kibuli's captain, Kasangaki Vicnt, received a red card.
Despite playing with a disadvantage, Kibuli held on for a 0:0 draw at full time. However, Lubiri proved more clinical from the spot, winning the penalty shootout 5:3. Lubiri carried that momentum to the very end to be crowned champions, while Kazo Hill College took home the fair play award.

The girls' final was a classic showdown between two power houses: Kawempe Muslim and Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga. In a tightly contested match, Kawempe Muslim edged out their rivals with a 2:1 victory to lift the trophy, Gaddafi intergrated Academy finished in third place, earning the Fair Play award for their disciplined performance
While they missed out on the football gold, Kibuli SS proved they are the undisputed masters of the court, sweeping titles across mulitiple disciplines; Table Tennis boys and girls, ans Badminton boys.
