Under the watchful  eye of CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, the 2026 CAF African Schools Football U-15 Championship reached a fever pitch in Zimbabwe. In a rareoccurance, both the boys' and girls' trophies werre decided by spot-kicks after two scoreless draws.

Senegal edged out a resilent Ugandan side ( St Marys' Kitende Boys), while Ghana's girls showed nerves of steel to retain their title in a marathon 9-8 shootout

Beyond the presitige of the trophy, the final whilstle at Ngoni Stadium signaled a massive financial boost for youth development. Winers Senegal and Ghana each walked away with $300,000 (approx. Ug.shs 1.1 billion), while runners -up Uganda and Burkina Faso secured $200,000. These funds, providedby CAF, represent a life - changing investment for the academic and athletic infrastructure of thee competing schools.

Uganda's U-15 boys' representatives, St Mary's Kitende, finished their CAF campaign without losing a single match in normal time. After dominant wins over DRC and Morocco,the Ugandan youngsters held Senegal to a 0-0 draw in the final. Despite a strategic late, game goalkeeping swap - bringing on Hamidu Kasumba for Imran Ssebbale - Uganda fell 5 - 4 in the shootout, ending an otherwise flawless tournament run.
