Jocelyn Ucanda, acclaimed manager of the National Insurance Corporation Netball Club, receives the Lifetime Sports Achiever Award from Real Stars Sports Agency. Certainly! Here's an alternative phrasing: Each Tuesday of the new month, Real Stars Sports Agency, in partnership with Jude Color Solutions and Fortebet Uganda, honors the top performers of the previous month. On exceptional occasions, the agency also recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to sports in the country. This month, Jocelyn Ucanda, the former manager of the She Cranes, received this special award, which came as a pleasant surprise to her.
“At this moment, I didn’t expect to receive an award. I thought I was being invited to present awards to others, so winning this Lifetime Award is truly overwhelming for me. I never imagined I would be among the honorees, but I deeply appreciate and value this recognition. It came as a complete surprise. I am very grateful to Mr. Isaac Mukasa and the sponsors of this award,” said Jocelyn Ucanda. Ucanda is also a candidate for the Uganda Netball Federation presidency and has managed the She Cranes through two consecutive Netball World Cups, in 2015 and 2019. She also shared her thoughts on the current state of netball in Uganda. We all recognize that netball suffered due to poor governance, but there is now hope on the horizon. The normalization committee has made strides in organizing the sport, and we’re optimistic as discussions are planned regarding the constitution and election roadmap. There is reason to believe that the future is promising, and we will rise and excel once more,” she remarked. Isaac Mukasa, the CEO of Real Stars Sports Agency, aspiring MP for Buikwe district 2026 also explained why Jocelyn Ucanda was selected for this award this time around.
At the same event held at Lazo Restaurant Kololo, Babirye Lydia was honored as the top performer in basketball, John Sserunjogi received the award for boxing, and Ssenyonjo Julius was recognized for his achievements in football.
