The Annual Moslim Run, which began in 2019 with the goal of giving back to the community, was temporarily halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year marks the fourth edition of the run, organized by the Corporate Muslim Association, scheduled to take place on September 22nd at the Hockey Grounds in Lugogo. The event aims to support charitable causes by raising funds through the sale of kits available at various locations, including KFC, Nakasero Mosque, Kibuli Mosque, Old Kampala Mosque, and other designated points.
The primary objective of this year’s run is to make a significant impact by providing a home for vulnerable babies. Participants will run a 100km and 5km route starting from the Lugogo Indoor Stadium, passing through various parts of Kampala, including the airstrip, before returning to Lugogo.

Mr. Kiwanuka a representative of the Muslim community, shared that this initiative is a first for them, as they have not previously invested in projects specifically for babies. He emphasized that this year's run is dedicated to building a home for babies in Luweero, a region that has been significantly affected by AIDS and past conflicts. The community has acquired 5 acres of land in Luweero, with plans to raise 1 billion shillings to begin construction.
Sharfic Semakula the Head of Business at Salam Bank, confirmed that as a financial institution, they are honored to support the run. He stated that Salam Bank is fully committed to contributing to the Shukran Babies Home program, which aligns with their mission to assist the communities they serve and promote economic integration in the country. He urged all partners to contribute to the welfare of these communities.
