UMEA Solidarity Games 2026: Gombe SS Reigns Supreme with 5 gold medals

The 2026 UMEA Solidarity Games in Mbale City concluded with Gombe Secondary School emerging as overall champions, bagging five gold medals. Kawempe Muslim Secondary School dominated girls' football, claiming a record seventh title with a 2-0 win over Nkoma Secondary School. Kawanda Secondary School reclaimed the netball crown, edging Kadugala Secondary School in a thrilling final.

 Kinaawa High School – Mugongo and Mbogo Mixed continued their volleyball dominance, winning the girls' and boys' titles, respectively. Kibuli Secondary School shone in badminton, table tennis, and chess, while Kyaddondo Secondary School took the boys' football title.

The games featured 1,591 students from 47 schools, competing in nine sports. Gombe SS's victory marks their consistency and excellence, with Kibuli SS close behind as runners-up. The event showcased faith, unity, and sports excellence, setting the stage for future talent.
